The four Gospels reveal Jesus as the fulfillment of God’s promises: the promised descendant of Abraham and David, the Messiah whose words and works demonstrate unmatched authority, and the King who came not merely to rule, but to redeem. From His miracles and teaching to His sacrificial death and victorious resurrection, Jesus reveals what kind of King He truly is: promised, powerful, sacrificial, and victorious. But the Gospels ultimately confront us with a personal question. It is not enough simply to recognize Jesus’ authority or admire His power. If the King has come, will we surrender to His authority, follow Him, and receive Him as our King?
