2 Thessalonians Encouragement For Believers - Blank.jpg

BELIEFS and VALUES

GOD

There is only one God who is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He eternally exists in three co-equal persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Jeremiah 10:10; John 4:24

1 Corinthians 8:6; Mark 1:9-11

THE BIBLE

The Bible is the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God. It was written by humans under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and is the source of truth for Christian belief and living.

Psalm 119:105; Psalm 119:160; John 17:17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21

ETERNITY

Humanity was created to live forever. We believe that all who receive Jesus by faith will spend eternity with God and those who reject Jesus will spend eternity separated from God. Separation from God is endured in hell. Eternity with God is enjoyed in heaven.

Matthew 22:1-14; Matthew 25:31-46; John 3:1-18,35-36; 1 John 5:11-12; Revelation 20:11-15

HUMAN LIFE

Human life is a sacred gift from God and begins at the moment of conception. It is invaluable no matter the age, race, ethnicity, intellect, physical ability or disability and is to be protected and preserved.

Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:7; Genesis 4:10-11; Exodus 20:13; Psalm 127:3-4; Psalm 139:13-16; Matthew 19:18; Romans 13:9

JESUS

Jesus is the Son of God, co-equal with the Father, born of a virgin and the only way to salvation. He came from heaven, lived a sinless life and gave Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sin of all men by dying on the cross. After three days He rose from the dead. He ascended into heaven and will return again to rule and reign as the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Psalm 2:7-9; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-23; Luke 1:35; John 14:6; Acts 1:11; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Revelation 19:16

SALVATION

Salvation is God’s gift of forgiveness and reconciliation to all who accept it by faith in Jesus. Salvation is not attained through self-improvement or good deeds. Eternal life begins the moment you receive Jesus into your life by faith.

Acts 2:21; Acts 16:30-31; Romans 1:16-18; Romans 3:24;

Hebrews 5:8-9

ETERNAL SECURITY

Because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and eternal power of God that gives this security.

John 10:292 Timothy 1:12Hebrews 7:25Hebrews 10:10-14

1 Peter 1:3-5

HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is God, equal with the Father and the Son, who indwells every believer empowering, equipping and enabling them to live a godly life.

Genesis 1:2; Psalm 51:11; Matthew 3:16; Acts 5:3-4; Romans 8:26-27

HUMANITY

Humanity was created by God and in the image of God. However, humanity has been separated from God because of sin and is without hope apart from a faith relationship with Jesus Christ.

Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3; Isaiah 6:5; Acts 17:26-31; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22; Colossians 1:21-22

THE CHURCH

The Church was established by Jesus and is God's vessel to expand His kingdom on Earth. The Church is not a building but a body of people who share a common bond through faith in Jesus.

Matthew 16:15-16; Acts 2:41-47; Ephesians 1:22-23;

Ephesians 4:11-16

MARRIAGE

Marriage was the first human institution created by God. It is designed by God to be experienced between one man and one woman in a covenant relationship for a lifetime. The marriage relationship is to be honored by all.

Genesis 1:26-28; Genesis 2:20-25; Genesis 4:1-2; Matthew 19:1-12; Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:24-27;

1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 Corinthians 7:1-17

CORE VALUES CONCEPT.jpg

CORE VALUES

Core Values are the values held which form the foundation for work and conduct. In an ever-changing world, Core Values are constant. At NewLife, our Core Values are not descriptions of what we do or the strategies we employ to accomplish our mission. These values undergird what we do, how we do it, and determine which strategies we will use to fulfill our mission. Our Core Values are the basic elements of who we are.

Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.

John 17:17
